Dreamscape Learn (DSL) is a collaborative venture between Dreamscape Immersive and Arizona State University, merging the most advanced experiential pedagogy with the entertainment industry's best cinematic storytelling to deliver unique virtual reality (VR) and 2D labs and full course experiences which are demonstrably efficacious, readily scalable and emotionally engaging. These VR labs combine the emotional power of Hollywood storytelling, the visceral excitement of theme park rides, and an extraordinary mix of full body tracking and interactivity to create stories and worlds that push the limits of what is possible in virtual reality.

EdPlus is currently seeking a highly-motivated and energetic Digital Media Virtual Reality Production Lead. The Digital Media / Virtual Reality Production Lead will help to put together the production plan, schedule, help direct and execute production activities, working closely with key stakeholders (artists, animators, engineers, writers, programmers, faculty, and university leaders), to maintain schedules, track feature and content status, and communicate the progress to the rest of the studio. This role will create product roadmaps and provide direction in the development and delivery of innovative digital media and virtual reality products and solutions including artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, bridging the technical and business worlds in the design of services with a bias toward action and breaking down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Essential Duties:

 

  • Plan, schedule, direct and execute digital media / virtual reality production activities from pre-production to post-production.
  • Ensure quality assurance throughout the production process.
  • Keep key staff up to date on project status and facilitate cross group communication.
  • Assist in bug tracking and organizing playtests.
  • Capture meeting notes and action items.
  • Facilitate hiring and training of digital media and virtual reality production team members.
  • Schedule development and deployment time using shared resources.
  • Understand and communicate customer needs and product vision, providing rapid feedback to digital media and virtual reality production team members.
  • Steer projects to ensure delivery of business value.
  • Establish and continually monitor/manage project expectations with the team.
  • Assign tasks and identify issues for resolution to ensure optimal team effectiveness.
  • Prepare and maintain all project status reports and schedules; track milestones/deliverables, critical paths and dependencies.
  • Re-sets expectations as needed in consideration of project progress/outcomes.
  • Respond to all inquiries regarding project status.
  • Manage, coach, and supervise digital media and virtual reality project team members both internal and contracted to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Build, develop, and maintain relationships vital to project success.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders, leadership, and other related staff to define and identify all required project infrastructure including, but not limited to: space, build/reconfiguration of facilities, equipment, technology and infrastructure.
  • Prepare all post-project reports, budget allocations and summaries/filings to ensure timely dissemination of information to all interested parties.
  • Assumes or coordinates other duties or projects as assigned or directed.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience, 1 of which is in project/program/product management; or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Evidence of a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Experience with game development, artificial intelligence tools, and location based virtual reality.
  • Experience with Dreamscape Learn's SDK platform or Unity platform.
  • Experience with version control software such as Perforce, Plastic, SVN, Git, Bitbucket.
  • Experience with Project Management Tools such as Jira, Shotgun, Trello, etc.
  • Good interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Time management skills with a proven ability to focus on priorities.
  • Ability to clarify roles and responsibilities to ensure understanding of expectations.
  • Knowledge of specific project management methodologies such as Scrum, Agile, Waterfall, etc.
  • Ability to adapt to changing creative direction.
