The Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology (MIC) at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia, seeks applicants with a research focus in cancer biology for a tenure-eligible position at the rank of Assistant / Associate Professor. The successful candidate will join an exciting and collegial research environment in the Department of MIC, and throughout the University, with outstanding opportunities for collaborative research in basic and clinical sciences. The School of Medicine houses state-of-the-art research space and numerous molecular and cellular research core facilities, including exceptional biosafety level 3 facilities and cutting-edge flow cytometry, microscopy, and small animal imaging. The successful candidate will establish and maintain an energetic, independent, creative, and well-funded research program in any area of cancer biology, and will participate in the teaching of graduate and medical students.

Education: Must have a Ph.D. and/or MD or equivalent
Experience: a minimum of 3 years of appropriate postdoctoral experience, or appropriate experience as an independent faculty member.
