Full-Time Digital Media Faculty


POSITION: Full-Time Faculty Position: Digital Media; Department of Art & Design, Division of Liberal Arts; Tenure track; Haverhill Campus; 37.5 hours/week; MCCC/MTA Unit Faculty Position

SUMMARY: The Department of Art & Design is seeking a dynamic and engaging art educator to teach students foundational skills in the Adobe Creative Suite and to teach a variety of digital media electives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Teach all sections of digital media-related art courses, including, but not limited to Animation, Computer Graphics, Digital Foundations, Digital Imaging, Motion Graphics, Video, and Web Design.
  • Participate and collaborate in departmental meetings and activities
  • Participate in college service, including assessment, community engagement, event programming, coordinating equipment loans, and portfolio/ internship/ career guidance
  • Serve as academic advisor to assigned students
  • Maintain office hours




Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in art, design, digital media, or related field
  • Experience teaching digital media courses at the college level
  • Facility with the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Facility in online teaching and learning
  • Experience using technology in instruction and assessment
  • Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds
  • Commitment to instruction attuned to equity mindedness, and inclusive of diversity and social justice
  • Ability to teach with and contribute positively to a diverse, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural student population.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional experience in one or more relevant fields, such as graphic design, game design, photography, or film/video
  • Exploration of emerging media and their impact on art and design practices
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred)
  • Community college teaching experience
  • Experience working with and supporting a culturally diverse population


BACKGROUND CHECK: Candidates will be required to pass a CORI and SORI check as a condition of employment.


Additional Information:


SALARY: Anticipated starting salary range is $47,620.00 to $57,375.00 per academic year with complete fringe benefit package. Complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, free dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits. Actual salary calculated in compliance with MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
