Job Summary

This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, and conducting cancer information and awareness outreach and services in support of the Georgia Cancer Center's Office of Cancer Information and Awareness.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Coordinate outreach to community organizations and groups for the purpose of providing cancer prevention, risk reduction and screening information and promoting clinical trials and Cancer Center's services; Identify and represent the Cancer Center at local, regional, statewide and national community events including health fairs, festivals, meetings and conferences; Establish an annual events calendar and maintain metrics to track outreach events, attendance and audience demographics and cancer information needs; Facilitate the Cancer Center's Speaker Bureau. Assist the Office of Cancer Information and Awareness; Participate in program development and facilitation of programs. Perform all other job-related duties/tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with a minimum of five years of experience in Public Health and/or community outreach service.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university with two or more years of experience in community health and/or community outreach; Experience with budgeting, reporting and analysis; Working knowledge of principles of child/adult learning theory and community-based participatory research.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Ability to maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to complete work and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Detail-oriented with strong organizational, presentation, prioritization, and mathematical skills.


Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Grade; 17

Salary Minimum: $44, 967 - Midpoint: $60,075

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
