Position Status: Full-Time

Position Summary:
Office of International Studies Admissions & Programs. The Coordinator of International Student Services manages the day-to-day operations of international student support services and F-1 immigration advisement on Georgia Southern University's Statesboro Campus; supervises student staff, including a Graduate Assistant; oversees international student programs that promote the success and retention of international undergraduate and graduate students, adhering to best practices.

Essential Functions
  • Performs related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University.
  • Manages and oversees office processes, procedures, and policies related to international student services.
  • Serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) with SEVIS, advising and assisting international students on F-1 visa regulations and benefits, while maintaining SEVIS compliance.
  • Counsels and refers international students to University resources.
  • Supervises student staff, including graduate assistants; and provides leadership.
  • Assists with the I-20 process, communication, and support services for newly admitted international undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Coordinates international student programs and workshops that promote the success and retention of international students in collaboration with university partners.
  • Monitors compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies to support student success, providing reports as needed.
  • Serves as a primary international student advocate/resource on the Statesboro Campus for enrolled international students.

Bachelor’s Degree

Three or more years of related work experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States per SEVIS; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

Preferred Education:
Master’s Degree in a related field

Preferred Experience::
DSO or PDSO experience with knowledge of federal F-1 immigration regulations, SEVP policies, and SEVIS database; Banner and Terra Dotta software; supervisory experience

Salary Range: Minimum $36,500
