Position Status: Full-Time

Position Summary:
Office of Financial Aid. The Financial Aid Counselor - Processing coordinates financial aid application process from first contact to completed award; provides students with financial aid counseling, awarding, and electronic federal and state information, as well as provides information on available programs, procedures, and eligibility.

Essential Functions
  • Performs related duties as assigned to support the mission of the University.
  • Assists students by evaluating financial aid requests and making award adjustments and/or recalculations.
  • Evaluates student academic progress relative to GSU's policy.
  • Maintains knowledge of all current federal and state regulations governing financial aid to ensure compliance.
  • Performs verification on financial aid requirements.
  • Works with various campus departments to ensure program efficiency for students by providing outreach programming on financial aid issues.
  • Represents Financial Aid Office at University events related to recruitment.
  • Support all aspects of students' needs for program from acceptance to graduation.

Bachelor’s Degree

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

Salary Range: $33,300 - $34,180
