Job Description
This Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position will be responsible for organizing instruction, classroom management, classroom effectiveness, responsiveness to students, exhibiting professional conduct, advising students, evaluating instruction, and publications utilizing current scholarship, professional development, publications, presentation, performance, external/internal funding, grant proposals, supporting student retention, promoting enrollment enhancement and management, supporting student development, and active participation in University and departmental activities. The appointment is scheduled to begin in the Fall 2020.


Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate level chemistry courses and perform related teaching duties.
  • Conduct research and produce scholarly work.
  • Seek and receive external funding to promote department activities and research.
  • Provide mentoring and advertisement to students and serve on committees to support the department, college and university.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Department Head.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field.
  • 1- 2 years teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

  • Broad knowledge of computer skills and research tools in chemistry related work


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or related fields
  • Experience in advance level courses in biomedical science areas is preferred

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Broad knowledge of computer skills and research tools in chemistry related work
  • Use of powerpoint and other advancement in Instructional Enhancement to promote success in achieving learning outcome.
  • Good communication skills in English.
