Adjunct professors are in the following programs/courses:
PSY65374 Diagnostic and Personality Assessment (3 units + 1 unit lab taught by Teaching Assistant)
In this course, students develop skills in gold-standard diagnostic and personality assessments such as measures such as the SCID, MINI, MMPI, MCMI, and CBCL. The course covers administration methodologies, validity, cultural, and differential diagnosis issues, integration of test results, clinical inference, and report writing. The didactic class is 3 hours a week and there is an accompanying 1-hour laboratory section that is led by one or more TAs supervised by the instructor. The laboratory section is expected to parallel and augment the didactic content taught in class. Students learn processes and get hands on practice to develop competency in administering, scoring and interpreting the psychological tests covered in the class in written reports with direct guidance and immediate feedback.
PSY61403 Developmental Psychology/Lifespan Development (3 units)
The study of developmental theories, constructs, research and research methods as they contribute to an understanding of normative human development and its variants. Psychological development from conception through aging and death are covered. Contemporary issues and trends are discussed.
PSY71710 Advanced Assessment & Integrated Report Writing (3 units)
This is an advanced 3-unit seminar for students who have completed the sequence of assessment courses (Intellectual Assessment, Diagnostic and Personality Assessment, and Neuropsychology Foundations). The focus is on the development of skills for integrating multiple assessment instruments to produce a meaningful and thoughtful comprehensive psychological evaluation report. The course covers assessment selection, administration methodologies, validity, cultural, and differential diagnosis issues, integration of test results, clinical inference, and report writing. Students will develop the ability to use tests in their understanding of clients and in developing therapeutic approaches.
Adjunct Faculty are scholars and professionals, who teach in their area(s) of specialization and expertise. The primary affiliation of adjunct faculty is not with the university.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Education: Doctoral or other terminal degree in Psychology or associated field, from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Appropriate experience in the areas(s) of specialization and expertise.
Certifications, Licenses, etc.: Clinical Psychology license required for clinical courses.
Direct Reports: Possible student teaching assistant.
Indirect Reports: None.
Office Location: On Campus.
Work Hours: Standard office hours, occasional evenings or weekends may be required depending upon course schedule.
