The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction in the College of Engineering and Computing invites applications and nominations for the position of Construction Management lecturer. This position will be located on the Statesboro campus.

Within this setting, the Department of Civil Engineering & Construction offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering (BSCE), Construction Engineering (BSConE), and Construction (BSCons). The BSCE program is accredited by ABET and the BSCons program is accredited by ACCE; the new BSConE program will secure initial ABET accreditation after graduating its first cohort of students. The department also offers a Master of Science in Civil Engineering. Delivery of the curriculum for each program emphasizes hands-on and experiential learning where students develop practical skills valued by employers. State-of-the art equipment and software are employed in both classroom and laboratory/field settings to prepare students to be productive technical professionals when they graduate.

Position Description Reporting to the Department Chair, the successful candidate will provide teaching and service as needed within the CEC department. A background in construction management or engineering is required. Expertise in construction graphics, project cost analysis, estimating, project management, scheduling and facilities management are preferred. Desirable qualifications include excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience in curriculum planning and development, and accreditation/assessment procedures.

The position is a 9 month, non-tenure-track appointment, with the potential for a teaching appointment during the summer terms. The salary is competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:
Earned Masters degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related field;
Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives;
Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development;
Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the institution

Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant industry experience in the field;
Terminal degree in a construction related field;
Previous teaching experience at a higher education institution;
Relevant licensures (PE, CPM, LEED or similar);
Experience with ACCE and/or ABET accreditation and program development.
