Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in communications,journalism, marketing, public relations, or other media field; marketing or public relations experience; experience administering social media applications; and basic photo and video skills. Successful results of a criminal background check. Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated work experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist; excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), and communication skills; demonstrated social networking experience; in-depth knowledge of social and google analytics tools; experience using Wordpress, SEO, Social CRM, and social media platforms; and demonstrated success with using visual storytelling to drive engagement is desired. Duties: The Social Media Specialist position is a 12-month professional position. The Social Media Specialist will participate as a team member in the Marketing and College Information Department and will lead the creation, design, assessment, strategic direction, planning, implementation and maintenance of all current and new social media activities. The Social Media Specialist will collaborate with the web services team regarding news content, and implement front-end content for the College�s social media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Blogs, Flickr, Snapchat, and other social media sites. Additionally, the Social Media Specialist will oversee processes to monitor, analyze and respond to commentary on all social media sites and online communities on an ongoing basis; plan and implement promotional social media sites and online communities on ongoing basis; plan and implement promotional social media events/contests, related to major College events and seek engagement opportunities for key audiences; keep current and report on trends in social media, digital content, and emerging technologies; and actively participate on social media platforms. The successful candidate must use creative and analytical skills, work with a team, and self-manage projects. May be required to work evenings and weekends. This position reports to the Executive Director, Marketing and Communications.

Salary: $34,320.00 - $35,000.00
