Qualifications: Physical therapist or physical therapist assistant with a minimum of 2 years work experience; ability to supervise and teach PTA students in a classroom and/or laboratory setting; must hold a current CPR for Healthcare Provider course completion certificate and Florida PT or PTA license (or be eligible for and in the process of procuring a Florida license). Successful results of a criminal background check and drug screening are required. May work up to 10 or more hours per week, as available. Responsibilities: Creatively integrate information from books and experience into instructional units of information to prepare the PTA students for the practice of physical therapy in acute, rehab and outpatient settings. Develop students’ knowledge base through lecture, demonstration, hands-on guidance and collaborative skills practicums. Assess learning outcomes through the administration of projects, tests, practical exams and/or portfolio development. Consult with students regarding individual progress on a regular basis and be prepared to assist the faculty in the analysis and revision of the curriculum in lines with professional practice needs.
