The Department of Supply Chain Management (SCM) at Rutgers Business School invites applications for a non-tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in SCM to begin on July 1, 2020.
The SCM Department at Rutgers Business School offers programs at the Ph.D., MBA, M.S. and undergraduate levels, and, together with the Rutgers Center for Supply Chain Management, develops and runs domestic and international executive training programs. SCM courses are offered at both the Newark and New Brunswick campuses of Rutgers University during the day, evenings, and weekends, with continuously ever-growing student demand. The Rutgers SCM program has over 148 corporations as educational partners, and is highly ranked in the nation. In 2018, Gartner named it #2 (undergraduate) and #5 (graduate) in North America, while US News and World Report ranked it #6 (Graduate) and #17 (Undergraduate). The Financial Times ranked the Rutgers MBA program #7 worldwide in Manufacturing/Logistics in 2017. The department’s success has drawn many employers to Rutgers Business School to recruit SCM students, to launch joint research projects, and to deliver joint executive trainings. The role of SCM instructors/professors of professional practice is critical to the continued success of Rutgers SCM programs and offerings.
Masters or PhD degree in supply chain management or related business discipline; significant academic administration experience; ability to teach undergraduate-level courses in general business skills; strong proficiency in data analysis techniques.
The teaching load will be 8 courses per year. Service responsibilities include: assisting with the launch, and be responsible for administration, under the guidance of the Program Director, of the Rutgers Business School graduate-level Stackable Programs initiative; coordinating with Supply Chain Management faculty in its various outreach and alumni activities.
