Job Description

D’Youville is a private school with a highly reputable and proven medical curriculum that educates undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level students. The Montante Family Library seeks a permanent, part-time librarian to fill potential day and/or evening shifts. This position focuses on maintaining a visible presence at the research desk to assist the campus community. In conjunction, this position will develop and provide formal information literacy instruction and education.

I. JOB SUMMARY:

Provide research assistance; teach information literacy classes for general, advanced and the First Year Program. To oversee the operation of the library during evening and weekend hours.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

Required: ALA-accredited MLS. Demonstrable reference desk and instruction experience in higher education. Exceptional interpersonal skills, such as the ability to interact with a variety of student and faculty who possess different research skill levels. We also require a librarian who can show initiative and flexibility in a changing environment.

Preferred: Dedication and commitment to a part-time position. Proven history of interest in life-long learning. Flexibility in shift availability. Cordiality.
