Job Description

The faculty member performs teaching duties for the College. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing instruction as assigned; conducting and assessing instruction; assisting students through academic advising; establishing, posting, and maintaining office hours; and providing leadership for the development, growth, and support of the assigned area.

 Other duties include supporting the mission, vision and values of the College and policies of the Board of Trustees; serving on various College committees, task forces and other groups; and participating in various official College ceremonies and meetings.

 This is a full-time,10-month position, which begins August 15, 2020.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

A master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field and one year of full-time teaching or the equivalent adjunct teaching, preferably in a community college setting, are required.  Other requirements include:

  • Ability to teach business, office systems and/or accounting courses.
  • Ability to use and teach office systems technology.
  • Ability to use various methods and technologies based on evidence-based pedagogies, as well as the ability to create curriculum and instructional materials based on the best practices.
  • Experience in assessing student learning and reporting results for institutional accountability.
  • Experience in advising business students.
  • Demonstrated competency with the ability to utilize current technology and Learning Management Systems to facility learning in a web-enhanced and online only environment.
  • Industry experience and the ability to connect real-world applications to teaching.
  • Well-articulated understanding of the role of community colleges and of their students.
