Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Full Salary Range
Minimum: $20,200.00
Maximum $75,000.00

Job Summary
The Department Chair is responsible for the administration of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program under the supervision of the Office of the Dean of the College of Health Sciences. The Chair provides leadership and direction in the planning, development, and delivery of the academic programs and in the maintenance of program excellence.

NOTE This part-time (0.1) administrative position will be combined to a (0.9) faculty position. This administrative 0.1 position added to the faculty 0.9 position makes the position a 1.0 full time position.
Details as follows:
Faculty position Title: Associate Professor, Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. Salary and rank will be based upon documented relevant experience and qualifications.
Faculty position: 0.9 FTE
The total salary range for this position is $140,000-$160,000.

Required Qualifications
1. Education: Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program and has an earned academic doctoral degree, Ph.D., Ed.D., or other advanced academic doctorate in a related field degree.
2. Rank: Eligible to hold rank of Associate Professor, Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. Salary and rank will be based upon documented relevant experience and qualifications.
3. Licensure: Physical therapist who is licensed/regulated in the state of Oregon or eligible to be licensed in Oregon.
4. Additional Preferences: Preference will be given to individuals with experience in university/college-level administration and experience with funded research.
5. Qualifications must align with the current CAPTE accreditation expectations for a Department Chair.

Work Experience
1. Six years of full-time higher education experience and be able to serve at the level of an Associate or Full Professor.
2. Eight years of full-time experience in physical therapy education preferred.
3. Applicant must have a record of quality teaching (design and delivery), demonstrated participation in scholarly activities (research), a commitment to institutional and external service, and a regional reputation as an authority in her/his field.

Lead in Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) process and in maintaining compliance with university and accreditation requirements.
Partner with DPTE faculty to ensure goals of the program match the strategic vision of the University.

Lead curriculum development for the DPT-NW program.
Mentor faculty in continued development of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Provide faculty with clear expectations and constructive feedback in these areas of endeavor.

Clinical environments require compliance with safety precautions, OSHA Blood borne pathogen training, and may include the use of certain personal protective equipment.
