Job Description Summary
Provide human resource, financial, and administrative support to ensure efficient and timely daily operations. Coordinate, monitor and process all transactions related to the department's and the Institute's postdoctoral appointments, financial activities associated with various PIs, and assist with other human resource functions - staff, student, temporary, and visiting scholar appointments and terminations. Set up postdoctoral appointments including visa applications and hiring processes and maintain account and transaction files.
Job Description
The Department of Cancer Biology and the Abramson Family Cancer Research Institute (AFCRI) and related entities (PCGI, PCRC, etc.), are seeking a Human Resources (HR)/Financial Administrative Coordinator who will provide support in all aspects of HR activity and will support the financial services of the department business office. Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the position will serve as the initial point of contact for newly identified postdoctoral researchers; providing the first level of information and support which will include working with the University Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) to process visas for postdoctoral trainees, visiting scholars, and other academic appointments. The position will be part of a team responsible for all transactional activities related to HR functions for staff, postdoctoral researchers, students, temporary employees, visiting scholars/students, and intern-trainees. Duties will include recruitment and on-boarding/off-boarding, assistance with appraisal and compensation programs, benefits, time keeping, email queries, electronic file maintenance, the management of databases and activity logs, lab and work unit salary grids, costing allocations, payroll reallocations and financial/PI portfolio reporting. These activities will be supported through the use of online University applications including: Workday, BPP Appointments system, iPenn, BEN Financials, Business Objects, Payroll Reallocations, etc.). Financial Admin Coordinator will also assist in data entry to include: correcting journal entries; budget journal entries; payroll reallocations; review and approve purchase requisitions in accordance with funding source and policy considerations; and run/review PI monthly financial reports. The Financial Administrative Coordinator will handle confidential material and compile and summarize sensitive data.
