Job Description
The Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program at Stanford invites applications for a full time, benefits-eligible Lecturer position for the 2023-24 through 2025-26 academic years. This is a fixed term position and does not qualify for tenure.
Duties consist of teaching the equivalent of four undergraduate courses across the academic year quarters (Autumn, Winter, Spring) and service (including student advising and assisting with outreach and program development) to the Program. Although the candidate's areas of expertise may be from any number of disciplines, the Program is looking for an instructor to teach courses with an interdisciplinary emphasis on topics of current interest to students.
Courses should be aimed at introducing students to interdisciplinary perspectives in feminist, gender, and sexuality studies in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and/or medicine. We have a strong preference for-but are not limited to-candidates who can teach courses on the following themes: gender and critical disability studies; gender and science, technology, data/AI studies; gender and environment/geography; gender/sexuality, race, and ethnicity; gender and economics/labor; gender/sexuality and politics.
We are seeking a dynamic, engaging teacher who is committed to interdisciplinary approaches and creative pedagogy and who is able to relate to a diverse student population.
The position is 100% FTE, benefits-eligible, with a salary range of $70,000 to $78,000. The post comes with an annual research budget of $3,000. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the qualifications of the selected candidate, budget availability, and internal equity.

Qualifications: PhD in a related field and teaching experience at the college or university level.
