Program Manager, London Law Program

The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Program Manager, London Law Program.

The University of Notre Dame (USA) in England (UNDE) is home to the London Law Program, established in 1968 by the University of Notre Dame (UND) in South Bend, Indiana to provide students with opportunities to deepen their understanding of the roots of American law, explore international career opportunities, and broaden their perspectives. The London Law Program is the oldest study-abroad program run by an American law school and features the only full-year London option approved by the American Bar Association (ABA). All courses and instruction conform to the standards of the ABA and the Association of American Law Schools.
The Program Manager, London Law Program, will manage all logistical aspects of the Law Program in London. The successful candidate will work closely with the Law Director and Director of Academic Programs in London, as well as the UND Law School, to ensure the success and future growth of the program. The Program Manager will be a key player in the recruitment of students and, in collaboration with UNDE staff, handle pre-departure and orientation for all incoming law students. The Program Manager will also work with the Law Director in recruiting faculty and will be the faculty's primary point of contact for logistics and administration, handling all contracts, orientation, and communication throughout the semester/year. Additionally, the Program Manager will manage the Program budget and provide direct support to the Law Director as required.

This position resides within the Academic Support Team which provides support and resources for all students and faculty at UNDE. The Program Manager, London Law Program, will be employed by UNDE.

Serve as the primary contact for the London Law Program. Play a key role in student recruitment, pre-departure, and orientation. Field routine enquiries about the London Law Program, and provide outreach in collaboration with the Law School at UND.

Plan and deliver pre-departure and orientation sessions for incoming students in collaboration with the Law Director and Director of Academic Programs; manage all communication with students and faculty about exam procedures, class information, events, program matters, and trips; coordinating with faculty as required; manage student housing for Law students with the Conway Hall staff.

Work with the Law Director in recruiting faculty and serve as the faculty primary point of contact for logistics and administration, handling all contracts, orientation, and communication throughout the semester/year; produce and update faculty handbook and other policy documents on an annual basis; schedule and/or invigilate exams during the academic year, summer, and weekends as needed; coach faculty on processes and policies; assist with joint-faculty (Law and undergraduate programs) termly meeting and reception, and schedule and participate as invited to Law faculty meetings.

Manage the budget for the London Law Program, in consultation with the Law Director, and assist the Program in coordinating with UND on budgetary and financial planning matters. Manage the London Law Program administration and provide support to the Law Director as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years administrative or program management experience, preferably in higher education or law environment
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to legally work in the United Kingdom without visa sponsorship
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills. Ability to work independently, highly organized and exceptional attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experienced university administrator with experience working in a UK Faculty of Law preferred.
