Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry is seeking a full-time (100%) general dentist and clinical educator for its community clinical outreach program. The dentist is expected to provide, within the scope of a general dentist, dental and general health examination, diagnosis, preventive, restorative, endodontic, prosthetic, and surgical care for children enrolled in the affiliated community outreach sites in and around Philadelphia and adults in selected community clinics.
The program serves areas in Philadelphia that have been designated as underserved. In this program, senior dental students will also provide dental care services, under the supervision of the dentist. The dentist may also be assigned to teach in other dental clinics within the Kornberg School of Dentistry.
The dentist must have significant experience in clinical practice located in community settings and must be amenable to work with diverse populations. The position will require skills in one-to-one teaching of students and a high level of cultural competency.
The desired candidate must be licensed by or be eligible for an unrestricted dental license in the state of Pennsylvania, and must be able to travel to various locations in and around the Philadelphia area. Previous experience with pediatric patients preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
