Senior Data Engineer
The Lifespan Informatics and Neuroimaging Center (PennLINC, www.pennlinc.io) is part of the Department of Psychiatry, the Neurodevelopment & Psychosis Section, and the Lifespan Brain Institute (LiBI). Our goal is to delineate normal brain maturation and understand how abnormalities of development give rise to psychiatric symptoms. To do this, we leverage large-scale studies of advanced multi-modal MRI imaging. The senior data scientist will provide lead multi-disciplinary data analysis efforts.

Research Investigator Senior
Ted Satterthwaite and the Penn Lifespan Informatics and Neuroimaging Center (PennLINC, www.pennlinc.io) are seeking to recruit a senior data scientist This job requires substantial experience with highly specialized neuroimaging tools, experiments, and analytics. The applicant will be expected to innovate and apply novel methods that are on the cutting edge of a rapidly moving field.
Responsibilities will include: developing and applying advanced data analysis techniques, leading international software collaborations, developing and maintaining imaging processing pipelines and maintaining them with a international user base, applications to large-scale datasets, and supervising staff and trainees. This position will involve working as part of a highly-interdisciplinary research team that includes experts in diverse fields such as neuropsychiatry (Raquel E. Gur; director of LiBI and UPenn Neuropsychiatry), neuropsychology (Ruben Gur; director of BBL), network theory (Danielle S. Bassett), multivariate pattern analysis (Christos Davatzikos), imaging statistics (Taki Shinohara), reward neuroscience (Dan Wolf), and cognitive neuroscience (David Roalf). To work effectively in this highly collaborative environment, the applicant must have superior communication, language, and writing skills.
Qualifications
Highly advanced professional discipline. Ph. D., or equivalent doctoral degree and 5-7 years of postdoctoral experience is required. Experience in software design, biomedical, or psychological research, or data science is essential. Extensive experience with diverse programming and analysis languages including Python, R, shell (linux/unix/bash) is necessary, along with facility with learning new technical skills independently. Extensive experience with spedcialized neuroimaging tools (AFNI, FSL) is strongly preferred.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
