The Department of Mechanical Engineering invites applications for a career stream faculty position at the rank of Instructor. The successful candidate will play an integral part in the teaching of undergraduate courses, with a focus on design-based courses, in the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, both in the upper and core (lower) division.
It is expected that the successful candidate will be teaching a total of 5 courses (15 credit hours) per academic year. Furthermore, the successful candidate will act as the academic lead for the IDEA Sandbox and Makerspace.
The successful candidate must provide evidence of demonstrated excellence in, and commitment to, teaching. The candidate will be expected to develop curriculum and innovative teaching methods for their assigned course and participate in the same, as well as service activities, at the Department level and beyond.
The successful candidate will also have 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in program development, organization, and management of hands-on and innovative learning environments. Professional experience in mechanical engineering design will be an asset.
The candidates must have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates must be eligible and committed to be a registered professional engineer in Nova Scotia.
