KPU is located in a region south of the Fraser River, which overlaps with the unceded traditional and ancestral lands of the Kwantlen, Musqueam, Katzie, Semiahmoo, Tsawwassen, Qayqayt and Kwikwetlem Peoples.

The Department of Educational Studies (EDST) invites applications for a Regular (100%) faculty position starting Fall 2023. This position involves teaching 4 courses (sections) in Fall (September-December), a pd/vacation semester in Spring (January-April) and teaching 4 courses (sections) in summer (May-August). We are looking for a start date of September 1, 2023.
We are currently seeking faculty to teach courses in First Year Transitions (EDUC 1100 and/or EDUC 1150) who also have expertise and experience to teach courses in at least one other area in Education. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience and expertise in one or some of the following areas: pedagogy and curriculum, assessment and evaluation, equity and inclusion, leadership and policy, justice, diversity, racism, Indigenous studies.
Our first-year transition courses focus on helping students to appreciate the broad purposes and values of higher education in democratic societies, and to cultivate the abilities and attitudes necessary to engage in scholarly discourse at a university level. Our education courses focus on helping students to understand themselves as prospective educators in a variety of settings.
Educational Studies at KPU is a growing department. We currently offer an Education Stream and a B.A. Minor in Counselling. We are primarily a teaching-oriented university and the successful candidate will be expected to engage in university and departmental committee work as well as in community outreach. It is expected that all faculty members shall engage in an ongoing process of professional development.
