 The Assistant Athletic Trainer will provide support to the head athletic trainer through providing: leadership with staff and students, preventative injury techniques including; care, disposition, rehabilitation of athletic injuries; the organization and administration of the training room operations; educating athletes concerning their injuries of athletic and general well-being. In addition, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will also teach in the Kinesiology department.

Preferred and Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree required (Masters of Science preferred)
  • Sports medicine experience at the intercollegiate level
  • NATA Certification
  • Obtain and maintain licensure through the Maryland Board of Physicians
  • Experience in student-athlete nutrition planning and education
  • Ability and willingness to work independently and with other sports medicine professionals
  • Time management/organization skills essential
  • Experience in surgical/non-surgical upper & lower extremity injuries rehabilitation
  • Experience in the use of manual therapy in the care and rehab of athletic injuries
  • Ability and interest in sports
  • Willingness to work with college students
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • Accomplish other duties as assigned by the head athletic trainer or department administration
