Eastern New Mexico University seeks a collaborative, visionary, inclusive leader committed to student success and the preparation of future educators and leaders. The successful candidate will have a clear, compelling vision for the future of higher education and the ability to coordinate the development and delivery of quality academic programs. Candidate should be able to identify and understand the needs of key constituencies including future students, current students, public education, community, and alumni.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and refine curriculum and assessment; recruit, develop, evaluate and retain CET faculty and staff; prepare and oversee CET budget; represent the CET at events on campus, in the region and across the state; lead strategic planning; develop and market academic programs; establish and enhance collaborative partnerships to support the CET mission; serve as a contributing member of the Academic Affairs leadership team. Position reports to the VP for Academic Affairs.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Earned doctorate in a discipline within the CET; proven record of successful academic leadership at chair level or above; recognized academic accomplishments commensurate with appointment to rank of professor; experience with discipline-based accreditation; familiarity with online modes of delivery; student-focused approach with experience in student recruitment and retention.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; superior leadership ability with high levels of creative and collaborative energy; experience with Agriculture, Culinary Arts and Kinesiology; capacity to nurture a collegial environment for faculty and staff; commitment to diversity; ability to advance positive relationships with K-12 partners; experience with professional development schools; successful experience with assessment/accountability; evidence of ability to secure external funding; experience in working with a state-level department of education; proven effectiveness in managing fiscal resources; creative vision for integration of innovations in technology and distance learning.
Salary and Start Date:
Salary is commensurate with experience and education. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled. Start date is July 1, 2020. Official transcripts for all degrees are required prior to appointment.
