Position Status: Full-Time

Position Summary:
Printing and Postal Services. The Postal Services Clerk serves as Postal Clerk for the Georgia Southern University campus to provide postal and shipping services provided by the United States Postal Services (USPS) to faculty, staff, and students, as well as the general public; serves as a route delivery mail carrier, delivering and picking up mail from all departments and assisting with printing projects.

Essential Functions

Sorts, distributes and delivers mail to campus departments and students.
Provides customer service functions in the unit to include cashiering duties, completing print requests, trouble-shooting, answering phones and directing to appropriate campus resources.
Ensures postal work complies with departmental policies and US Postal regulations.
Provides general information in response to inquiries and refers to upper management inquiries/issues of complexity.
Enters data and scanned images into system databases (i.e., BANNER, BDM, OneUSG Connect).
Enters and manages electronic documents (i.e., Word, Excel).
Inventories supplies and generates restocking requests.

High School Diploma or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment
