Position Status: Full-Time

Position Summary:
Faculty Senate. The Administrative Specialist administers the day-to day operations of the Faculty Senate Office and provides administrative, operational, and technical support to the Faculty Senate Officers, Committee Chairs, and the Senate Executive Committee. This position requires travel between campuses.

Essential Functions

Oversees and administers the day-to-day operations of the office; serves as liaison for Faculty Senate between Faculty Senate Senators, General Faculty, and University personnel; assists the Faculty Senate President in communicating with internal and external constituents.
Establishes, updates, and maintains unit's files, inventories, membership lists, and committee records for future reference; implements and maintains data management systems as required; coordinates surveys and tally results; tracks all scheduled Senate activities.
Maintains and updates the Faculty Senate web site.
Organizes and facilitates meetings and special events; schedules and coordinates dates and times, venues, attendance, agendas, and facilities; gathers and distributes meeting material for Faculty Senate; attends meetings; provides administrative support and follow-up on matters arising from meetings.
Researches information; drafts special and/or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries.
Monitors, reconciles, and assists with fiscal administration for the unit; carries out all office procedures or Senate purchases, payments, travel requests, work orders, reimbursement, and budget.
Attends monthly Faculty Senate meetings which extend beyond normal business hours.

Bachelor’s Degree

Three or more years of related work experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment

Salary Range: $36,500 - $45,700
