Job Description Summary
The Annenberg School IT team is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of DevOps Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive array of technical knowledge, with experience in all phases of the development lifecycle. Design, test, and deliver new system solutions to meet organizational needs; develop and support research center websites, applications, databases, and cloud infrastructure. Design and develop innovative solutions to streamline workflows and support development for future projects in collaboration with research and other key stakeholders. Will be responsible for deployment, monitoring, scaling, and ensuring operational duties necessary when releasing code. Ensure that software works during and after deployment. Build and maintain strategic relationships across the school, university, and special interest groups to leverage resources and maintain knowledge of new and emerging technologies. Position requires occasional work outside normal business hours.
Job Description
We are seeking someone able to own the entire Web Development stack end-to-end. This person will write code, maintain the existing pipelines, and monitor the health of systems. Below is a collection of services that an ideal candidate will possess. It is our expectation that you will have familiarity in all and expertise with more than half:
This is a dynamic role that combines existing projects as well as frequent greenfield explorations. As a key member of the IT team, this person also will serve as a liaison in facilitating development operations among a small team of developers and IT support professionals.
Qualifications:
BA/BS and at least 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience in application development, preferably in higher education or research. Proficiency with PHP, WordPress, Git SCM, AWS, and WebOps deployment workflows is required. The ability to clearly communicate with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders is critical. A successful candidate will possess robust analytical and problem-solving skills, along with strong written and verbal communication and an ability to meet strict formal deadlines.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
