About the University:
The University of Oregon is one of only two Pacific Northwest members of the Association of American Universities and holds the distinction of a “very high research activity” ranking in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. The UO enrolls more than 20,000 undergraduate and 3,600 graduate students representing all 50 states and nearly 100 countries.
The University of Oregon is guided by a diversity framework that involves a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion for all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. The UO's 295-acre campus features state-of-the-art facilities in an arboretum-like setting within the traditional homelands of the Kalapuya people.
The UO is located in Eugene, a vibrant city of 167,000 with a wide range of cultural and culinary offerings; a pleasant year-round climate; and a community engaged in environmental, social, and social justice concerns. The campus is within easy driving distance of the Pacific Coast, the Cascade Mountains, and Portland.
About the UO Libraries:
The University of Oregon Libraries is an essential partner in the University's educational, research, and public service mission. Our purpose is to actively support the student learning experience, enable the creation and stewardship of knowledge, and contribute to advancements in teaching, research, scholarship, and public service. With a focus on equity in service, we strive to create a powerful learning community and a welcoming space where all library patrons can access the information necessary to achieve their personal and professional goals.
About the Research, Instruction, and Access Services Division:
The Libraries' Research, Instruction, and Access Services Division (RIAS) supports UO students and faculty by building and delivering relevant collections and services; facilitating access to local and remotely-held library resources; implementing and participating in innovative outreach and engagement activities; providing online and face-to-face information and data literacy instruction; and promoting access to affordable course materials. RIAS encompasses six major service areas: Access Services, Data Services, E-learning, Open Education Resources, Research and Instructional Services, Undergraduate Engagement, and five Branch Libraries.
UO Libraries is seeking a highly motivated, forward-thinking, and customer-focused individual to join the Research, Instruction, and Access Services Division as the next Resource Sharing Manager. We are seeking a candidate who embraces change and innovation, is eager to welcome a challenge, and has experience in libraries and supervision. Responsibilities include providing functional and strategic leadership to meet the changing service needs of UO Libraries' customers; managing 3.5 FTE non-exempt, represented employees and approximately 2.0 FTE part-time library student assistants; and serving as UO Libraries' technical lead for Resource Sharing-related technology and operations.
