Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Minimum: $64,480.00
Maximum $65,000.00

Job Summary
The Research Coordinator will support the research mission of the College of Pharmacy and assist in developing research opportunities, research training, and developing the research skills of the COP Faculty.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of scientific theory and methods.
  • General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
  • Experience using statistical software such as R, SAS, and/or SPSS
  • Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.


Required Qualifications
Minimal Requirement: A B.S. degree with three years of experience in conducting research

Preferred Qualifications
M.S. degree with a research-based thesis.

Job Duty
  • Provide faculty with information on grant opportunities from various agencies and organizations.
  • Assist faculty in preparing and submitting the Institutional Approval Form for Extramural Application, the Budget Form, and regulatory documents such as IRB, IACUC, and Biosafety.
  • Proofread grant proposals, project reports, meeting abstracts, and manuscripts as requested.
  • Support faculty with grant and manuscript submissions.
  • Assist with healthcare database acquisition, reporting, and compliance.

Assist faculty in managing funded research accounts.

Job Duty
  • Provide guidance on research ethics and compliance issues.
  • Maintain a database of submitted and funded grant proposals, IRB submissions, and publications and prepare annual reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all COP research project-related activities.

Assist the ADRGA in fostering student research activities.

Job Duty
Assist the ADRGA in promoting global outreach of COP research efforts.

  • Train other support staff to assist faculty with manuscript preparation and submission.
  • Update the COP research webpage quarterly.
