Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Minimum: $17.00
Maximum $23.56

Job Summary
This individual will provide administrative support to the Director of Operations and the Dean's office. This individual will also act as receptionist and provide general clerical support for the faculty.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess the knowledge, as well as the following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

1. Excellent computer skills necessary in order to set up document formats in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and /or similar software packages.
2. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
3. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced office.

Required Qualifications
Education: Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform this job in a satisfactory manner.
AA degree and/or combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education

Experience: 2-3 years of administrative experience.

1. Provide administrative support to the Director of Operations and Dean’s office. This includes the Dean, Director of Operations, and the Executive Assistant to the Dean, such as scheduling appointments, handling routine correspondence/inquires, and maintaining files.

2. Front Desk Receptionist: answers phones and directs calls, greets visitors, answers questions, provides and receives information related to the curriculum, faculty, and programs or the College of Veterinary Medicine and maintain a presence at the front desk.

3. Collect, assign and distribute PBL and Locker Keys on a semester or annual basis.

4. Provides faculty clerical support in such areas as initial orientation, ordering supplies, purchasing, mail distribution, faxing, and assuring compliance with College and University policy.

5. Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role, through on-going training, as provided by the University or elsewhere subject to College approval.

7. Maintain the kitchen and mailroom: ensuring both areas are cleaned and organized. Submit Facilities requests for items needing attention. Coordinate with the Director of Operations.
