The NYU School of Professional Studies seeks a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Management and Systems for the Division of Programs in Business. This position is a nine-month, non-tenured, one-year, renewable faculty appointment. The rank of the position will be clinical assistant or associate professor depending on experience and qualifications.

The chosen professor will serve as the lead academic for the NYUSPS Management and Systems degree (MASY). The program’s unique STEM-designated curriculum provides students with experiential learning opportunities to develop strong management and leadership skills and gain comprehensive knowledge of current information technologies. The ideal candidate will be a committed educator who has meaningfully contributed to both industry and academia. They will lead in the creation of intellectual capital pertaining to the management of technology. Additionally, experience in curriculum, course, and program development is highly desirable.

The selected candidate will work closely with the Academic Director to develop and deliver impactful and engaging coursework and co-curricular programs; to advance thought leadership through applied industry research; to build industry relationships and partnerships; to support in the growth and development of the adjunct faculty base; and to contribute collaboratively to the advancement of NYUSPS and the division’s mission and strategy. Along with teaching responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to advocate for the program, assisting at orientation and information events, serving on committees, advising students, and building relationships and programs within NYUSPS.

The Management and Systems degree is offered through the Management and Technology Department, preparing approximately 700 graduate students per year to become innovative and socially responsible leaders in their chosen field. The department also offers noncredit career advancement courses and certificate programs with approximately 300 enrollments.

The Department is housed within the Division of Programs in Business which currently offers six Master’s programs that combine leading-edge theory with real-world experience to meet the educational needs of aspiring professionals and prepare them for the demands of the workplace. Students from around the world are immersed in highly relevant curricular and co-curricular experiences that combine academic theory and the rich professional expertise of industry practitioners from New York City’s business community. This creates a dynamic teaching and learning environment in which students gain and apply practical skills to solve complex, real-world problems of business and society.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess advanced academic credentials (doctoral or other advanced terminal degree) and 8-10 years of substantial direct experience. Expertise and familiarity with both fields of management and technology are required.
