POSITION: Twelve-month, Research Scientist position with the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Colorado State University. This is a one-year position with possibility for additional years contingent on funding.
START DATE: Flexible, with earliest start date of January 1, 2020
SPECIALTY AREA: The department of Human Development and Family Studies at Colorado State University seeks applications for a Research Scientist to contribute to the growth of the Colorado State University Prevention Research Center. Research in HDFS and the Prevention Research Center focus on understanding and influencing the development of health and well-being across the lifespan. We are seeking an early-career colleague with a substantive focus within an area of family-, school-, or community-based prevention research. The ideal candidate’s research experience and interest will align with one or more of the Prevention Research Center’s guiding themes: 1) Healthy Lifestyles: basic studies of risk and protection across the lifespan or intervention studies that promote healthy lifestyles (e.g., substance misuse prevention or cessation, social-emotional development; behavioral and mental health; 2) Supportive Relationships: basic or applied investigations into the processes by which supportive relationships contribute to optimal development across the lifespan; and 3) Implementation, Dissemination and Translation: studies of the process of implementing interventions in real-world settings including intervention adaptations for diverse populations, digital and other technological innovations in intervention delivery, or organizational characteristics related to implementation quality and sustainability of innovations. The ideal individual will have strong methodological and writing skills. Experience with writing grants and securing external funding is desirable. The selected candidate will be encouraged and supported in publishing and developing an independent line of investigation.
