Job Description

The National University of Singapore (NUS) is a leading research-intensive university (http://nus.edu.sg/) that is consistently ranked among the world’s top universities.  The Department of Psychology at NUS (http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/psy/) has well-established undergraduate, graduate research and graduate clinical psychology professional training programmes. The department consists of an internationally diverse group of faculty members who are committed to excellence in research and teaching.

We seek applicants for 5 Lecturer/Senior Lecturer positions (Educator-Track) to join us in July 2020. The Department at this time specifically aims to strengthen teaching in Clinical Psychology and Quantitative Psychology. We are targeting two hires in clinical psychology and one in quantitative psychology (the latter is expected to be able to teach advanced research and statistical methods such as psychometrics and psychological testing). Applicants with backgrounds in other areas of psychology are encouraged to apply for the remaining two positions – those who are able to offer modules such as History and Systems of Psychology, Historical Controversies in Psychology, or other potential Honours capstone modules will have an advantage.

Preferred and Required Qualifications

All successful applicants must have a PhD degree in psychology or an equivalent doctorate-level qualification in clinical psychology (e.g., DClinPsy, ClinPsyD) by the time of appointment. Teaching and/or supervision experience, and evidence of excellence in teaching, are highly desirable. Applicants with extensive teaching experience with evidence of educational leadership may be appointed at the Senior Lecturer level. Remuneration is competitive and includes medical, housing, relocation and other benefits.

Application Details

The dates for campus visit and interviews are fixed on 21-23 January, 2020, conducted at NUS Psychology. Shortlisted applicants must be available for the campus visit during the specified dates. The Department will not accommodate any requests for rescheduling of the campus visit dates

It should articulate your contributions across multiple domains of teaching practice (instruction, supervision, assessment and course design). Evidence of educational leadership can take the form of how you influence peers and others in their teaching practice. Where applicable, you may also briefly explain how your research and service contributions enhance your teaching in this Teaching Statement.
  • Teaching evaluations and peer review reports, if available. Other evidence of teaching excellence is welcome.
  • Sample module outlines, samples of teaching-learning materials and assessment tasks, if available.
