Job Summary
The Simulation Technician works closely with faculty, staff, and other simulation facilitators to provide ongoing support for medical simulations or other training sessions, This includes the use or support of simulation computer software, medical equipment, A/V equipment, simulation tools, and manikins. The incumbent is also responsible for locating and managing medical supplies needed to enhance delivery of simulation activities (IV supplies, pumps, crash carts, etc.).

The duties include, but are not limited to:

Performs pre-/post- simulation activities including: setting the scene to simulate the healthcare environment, applying moulage to mannequins to approximate signs/symptoms of disease/injury, creating simulated medications, setting up healthcare equipment, and moving/arranging simulators/task trainers to support simulation needs.

Executes routine and complex technical and clinical simulations. Program simulator software to match desired physiologic responses to instructor specifications. Operate basic computer hardware and audio-video recording systems. Perform basic troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of simulation, healthcare, and support equipment.

Schedules simulations and classes in the Simulation Center.

Maintains supply inventory and recommends replenishment when needed, providing recommendations for budget and purchasing of equipment, supplies, and materials. Operates inventory management system to track inventory and utilization of supplies.

Serves as an assistant to director and other staff members.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical or healthcare related field and corresponding certification (if offered in the field of the degree) with one year of direct experience in healthcare simulation.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a technical or healthcare related field and two years of direct experience in a healthcare-related setting. Knowledge of patient simulation, technologies, and applications such as: CAE Healthcare Learning Space, CAE and Laerdal patient simulators, Desire2Learn, EMS Campus, FileMaker Pro, Echo360 or similar products.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Must demonstrate the ability to learn new technologies quickly and easily. Knowledgeable in medical terminology, medical supplies, and/or medical procedures.
Must demonstrate the ability to work independently.
Must demonstrate excellent time management skills.
Ability to work flexible schedule when needed (occasional evenings/weekends required). Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday 9:00am ' 6:00pm.
Ability to exercise sound judgment, make responsible decisions, and maintain confidentiality.

Pay Grade: 13

Salary: Minimum $16.19/hour - $19.73/hour

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
