Stony Brook University is undergoing tremendous growth. The Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry will serve as an Attending Psychiatrist in the Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Program.
Our adult outpatient psychiatry service is expanding and we are looking for a psychiatrist for diagnosis and treatment of Stony Brook University Hospital's trainees, residents and fellows.
This position will afford the opportunity to do rewarding work treating bright, responsive doctors navigating relationships, professional and other difficulties in crisis and otherwise. The program is free of service to trainees and is sponsored by the GMEC but operates independently and in absolute confidentiality. Any documentation is outside of the hospital's EHR.
MD/DO with Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry. Eligibility for New York State licensure.
1) Clinical experience in Adult Psychiatry Outpatient Program.
2) Experience in understanding the stresses experienced by medical trainees.
3) Crisis assessment skills and management.
4) Psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy skills.
5) Clinical acumen in substance use disorder diagnosis and treatment.
6) Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
