We strive to research behavioral and lifestyle interventions for health promotion. Our faculty have many expertise which include injury prevention studies, obesity prevention, statistical modeling and many more. Our mission in whole is to improve health and prevent illnesses. As the Institute of Public and Preventative Health we achieve our mission through research, service, leadership, and training. Our vision includes health behavior screening and education, community health update for public and private stakeholders, public and preventative health seminar series and development of new public health research projects.

Job Summary

Responsible for comprehensive administrative services such as: research administration, budgetary and financial management, project planning and development, purchasing and procurement administration, general administrative and human resources responsibilities, compliance with regulatory policies and procedures related to project grants.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

Support the Associate Director and Director
Preparation and development of new applications; Develop and submit Just-in-Time information to sponsored agencies for pending awards; Prepare and develop progress reports, competing renewals, revisions, contracts and grants close-out reports for existing awards; Perform electronic research administration system functions currently in use by federal and private entities; Establish and maintain a report of submitted proposals, awards and deadlines related to grants and publications; Ensure research protocols remain current; Manage accounts, including state and sponsored program funds to include: budget development and implementation; Develop processes to track fiscal activity; Monitor expenditures and ensure items are allocated in accordance with budget assignment and federal, state, university and sponsored program requirements; Budget amendments, modifications, restrictions of spending and/or re-allocation of funds as appropriate, and management of CAP and other cost share accounts; Provide financial analysis to support existing and planned operations and prepare accurate and reliable reports to leadership.

Member of the Institute Management Team
Serve as a key member of the Institute management team and perform general administrative functions necessary to assist in areas deemed priority within the goals and objectives of the Institute such as manage personnel; Develop policies and new work procedures as requested; Disseminate information to faculty and staff; Serve as a resource for administrative support staff (i.e. payroll, effort, travel, purchasing, etc); Monitor compliance and audit activities; Train staff on work processes and computer applications as requested; Plan and develop special projects and events to include, but not limited to, hosting local, national and international meetings / symposia, securing funding through grants and/or donations to support projects or research collaborations; Participate in meetings, training, and other work environment, health and safety activities. Identify opportunities for obtaining research grants.

Support the Chair and Administrator
Run monthly Project Grant reports in PeopleSoft and maintain ledger for Principal Investigator (PI); Assist with preparation of budget amendments, authorizations to budget, cost transfers, over the cap cost share, carry over and no cost extension forms and grant routing forms, A to B forms, MOUs,BAAs, BCM errors, and ePARS as needed; Respond to questionable (deferred) transactions on sponsored grants and provide justification and/or backup to Sponsored Programs accountants; Notify PI and Department Administrator of any deficiencies and/or concerns; Create and maintain shared project files in Box for pre and post award use; Maintain Grant Submission Pipeline spreadsheet for Department Administrator, Chair, and DSPA; Review grant proposal applications guidelines and individual funding announcement guidelines.

Other
Meet with faculty to develop grant submission checklists and timelines; Work with DSPA Grant Officer and PI to submit proposals to internal, external and/or scientific reviewer; Prepare budgets and write budget justifications for proposals; Format and upload documents into applications; Prepare grant applications for review by DSPA Grant Officer and submission to grantor; Create sub-award applications into and from Augusta University; Enter appropriate data into grant applications systems and electronic routing into eSproute; Assist with letter of intent submissions; Assist with grant reporting requirements and submissions; Assist with IRB and IBC submission as needed; Assist with effort certification as needed; Serve as P-Card backup as needed; Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and three years of experience with preparation and review of funding proposals.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in research administration, state, federal and foundation research application processes and policies

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Ability to maintain confidentiality
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)

Pay Grade: 15

Salary: $38,913/annually - $52,533/annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
