Center of Operational Medicine
Since its inception in 2003, the Center of Operational Medicine or COM has earned a reputation as one of the foremost institutions in the nation for operational medicine training. The COM staff and instructors include highly experienced emergency physicians, emergency management specialists, and paramedics with strong backgrounds in prehospital critical care, military and law enforcement special operations, disaster medicine, international humanitarian assistance, and wilderness medicine. Through our ongoing operational activities with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as the Department of Defense, the COM continues to develop and deliver the most up-to-date operational medicine training available.

Medical College of Georgia
The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.

Job Summary
The Operational Medicine Educational Coordinator 3 will provide instruction of operational medicine curricula in areas of expertise; provide curriculum development for Center of Operational Medicine educational programs; assist with the coordination and implementation of Center projects and initiatives; serve as program manager for operational medicine programs as directed by Center's leadership; conduct research and seek grant funding for Center and Department initiatives; and participaie in and conduct training programs for health care providers, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, emergency managers, incident command staff, and public health personnel.

Responsibilities
Reponsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate and instruct in the National Disaster Life Support programs or similar educational programs; Coordinate and instruct in the Tactical Operator Care Courses or similar educational programs; Coordinate and instruct in the Critical Care Transport Course or similar continuing educational programs.
Assist in the performance of quality improvement processed for EMS services.
Maintain special equipment required for EMS service functions.
Assist the Director in other related concerns and duties related to work described herein in support of the Center of Operational Medicine's mission.
Coordinate and conduct other continuing educational programs, including but not limited to Basic Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, pre-hospital pediatric educational programs and EMS in-service programs.
Assist in coordination and teaching of FBI EMS educational programs.
Assist in conducting research projects either in a clinical or laboratory setting; Perform analysis of data and participate in grant preparation.
Provide administrative management and teaching for EMS seminars.
Provide information that includes replies to letters and information for governmental agencies.
Serve as liaison with the regional and state EMS offices and other organizations such as the National Association of EMS Physicians, Georgia EMT Association and the National Association of EMTs. Serve as liaison with FBI personnel and other federal and state law enforcement agency healthcare personnel.
Provide on the request of the Director of the Center, direct medical support of the FBI operations both domestic and international.
Remain up to date on current clinical activities and current status of EMS services.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Must be a licensed physician or PhD or Master's degree with 10 years of Public Administration required with a preference for Emergency Management or other appropriate related health care related fields. Must be a U.S. citizen, possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. passport, pass a private background check and a U.S. government security clearance. Must have extensive knowledge and experience at the doctoral level in operational medicine subjects. Must be an accomplished instructor skilled at public speaking and lecturing.

Preferred Qualifications
CCEMT-P certification or equivalent.
ACLS, BLS, BTLS or PHTLS instructor certification.
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Strong public speaking and lecturing skills
Ability to exercise good judgement in accomplishing tasks
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work under little or no supervision
Knowledge of pre-hospital emergency care, law enforcement tactics and/or operational medicine

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
