Title: MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST I

Graduation from high school or GED equivalency and four years’ experience in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC; must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds; working knowledge of Microsoft Word; ability to read schematic diagrams and blueprints; interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; ability to work from a bucket truck and ladders; and possess a valid driver’s license. Successful results of a criminal background check are required. Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer experience with digital control systems, and any industrial/commercial experience. Duties: The Maintenance Specialist I positions are full-time career service positions. The Maintenance Specialist I will participate in a variety of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and other maintenance tasks to insure the operation of equipment on campus. The successful candidates will perform work in accordance to established codes, policies, and procedures; conduct inspections of assigned areas to insure completion of work assignments; estimate material and labor hours; order supplies and materials; maintain appropriate records; and perform preventive maintenance on an established schedule. These positions require availability to work flexible hours as needed and is primarily located on the Pensacola Campus but may be assigned to other campus locations. These positions report to the Maintenance Supervisor. NOTE: One position will be assigned to the night shift.
Salary: $24,150.00 ($12.34/hour) *plus shift differential for night shift position -
