Title: FINANCIAL AID/VETERAN SERVICES SPECIALIST

Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree or its equivalent. Appropriate work experience on a year to year basis may be substituted for the college degree requirement. Successful results of a criminal background check are required. Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer experience processing and establishing student eligibility for federal, state, and institutional aid; excellent customer service skills in high traffic post-secondary education setting; and documented supervisory and accounting experience. Duties: The Financial Aid/Veteran Services Specialist position is a full-time career service position. The Financial Aid/Veteran Services Specialist will be a member of a high profile department responsible for assisting students, prospective students, College employees, and visitors. The Financial Aid/Veteran Services Specialist will demonstrate administrative capability; adhere to compliance policies and procedures; audit accounts and files; create departmental training tools compliant with federal, state, and institutional regulations, statutes, and policies; evaluate student/family requests and exercise professional judgment relative to financial aid assistance; represent the College at events; and assist in processing a high volume of student financial aid records with expert knowledge. This position requires availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, during peak periods. This position reports to the Director, Financial Aid.
Salary: $27,825.00 ($14.22/hour) -
