Job Description



We seek applicants for a full-time position within our Information Technology (IT) department to manage and tune in-house computer software systems to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. Will work individually or as a team member in testing and implementing product enhancements, software fixes, and application service packs.  

Work schedule will include evening, night, and weekend hours. 

General responsibilities include but are not limited to 

  • As designated by the Director, specialize in some of the areas of systems and services as the primary and secondary response roles
  • Perform troubleshooting, fixes, patches, and firmware updates
  • Evaluate new software, firmware, and system upgrades
  • Develop, implement, upgrade and test specialized area systems and services
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of specialized area systems and services





  • Associate degree in a microcomputer related field OR equivalent education or certification
  • Minimum of two years of experience working as an assistant system administrator or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills with Microsoft server operating systems
  • Demonstrated general knowledge and skills with server applications or business application systems such as Microsoft IIS, Apache HTTPd, Apache Tomcat, Canvas Learning System, PeopleSoft Campus Learning Solutions, PeopleSoft HR, PeopleSoft Financial, Portal System, SharePoint, Citrix Virtual Desktop, Citrix Provisioning, Application Load Balancer, Identity Management Infrastructure, etc.
  • Proven effective communication skills; demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member; and commitment to high quality customer service


Desired Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with Linux server/network operating systems
  • Certifications or training desirable for technologies that are used in the College environment (such as MCSE, Apache, VMware, Citrix, etc.)
