Reporting to the Executive Dean, the Program Director/Core Faculty serves as the administrative head of the Industrial & Organizational Psychology Programs (Master of Arts in Industrial & Organizational Psychology and Master of Industrial & Organizational Psychology) in Vancouver. The Program Director leads the development and implementation of programmatic goals within the scope of the institutional mission and is responsible for the effective operation of the degree program. In addition to teaching in the program, the program director recruits & mentors faculty, schedules classes, manages programmatic student learning outcomes and oversees the unit's budget, etc. In concert with the program's core faculty, the Director recruits & advises students.
Additionally, the Program Director serves as the interim leader of the newly launched Master of Applied Psychology degree, until a director is named for this program.
The Program Director / Core Faculty provides thought-leadership to the university while leveraging industry knowledge and best practices to promote the mission and vision of the program and the institution.
- Doctoral degree in an academic discipline related to industrial/organizational psychology, organizational development or human resource practice from an accredited institution is required.
- At least five (5) years' experience in graduate-level teaching, service, and scholarship with familiarity with the scholar-practitioner training model is required with demonstrated experience as an administrator in an academic setting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach various courses, typically at the rate of three credits per term (9 credits annually), unless the program needs require teaching beyond this level. A three-term model is used for the academic year.
- Advise students on general academic and professional matters.
- Work closely with the admissions team to train and update program status and interview program applicants and select eligible students for admission.
- Lead program success by attending meetings, creating departmental initiatives, actively reviewing and update student-learning outcomes, create and update handbooks, etc.
- Serve as a member of the Faculty Council and contribute to the well-being and success of the Faculty.
- Serve on university committees as needed.
- Support and model the University's mission and values of social interest, compassion, justice, respect for the individual, honour diversity and difference, intellectual rigour, optimism, and collaboration.
- Ensure programmatic compliance with all Adler academic and administrative policies and procedures, including timely completion of catalogue content.
- Promote, facilitate and implement new academic initiatives within the program.
- Provide final programmatic approval for new/revised courses, program revisions; review and approve Master Course Syllabus for all courses.
- Lead an Institutional Program Review every five-years.
- Create, implement, and evaluate educational outcomes for the program, students and faculty.
- Select and evaluate qualified full-time and adjunct faculty. Support faculty development, review course evaluations and feedback in a timely manner.
- Schedule courses for the program; assign qualified faculty to teach those courses. Teach courses with a reduced load given administrative responsibilities.
- Provide input regarding recruitment and marketing activities with appropriate support staff.
- Manage programmatic budget, monitor, and approve related expenditures.
- Lead/support student recruitment, marketing, academic advising, and student development.
Work Environment (Physical Demands)
The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
