The Department of Psychology at Nebraska Wesleyan University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology position beginning August 2023. Nebraska Wesleyan University, located in Lincoln, the capital city of Nebraska, is a nationally recognized undergraduate liberal arts institution with approximately 2,000 students and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
While the area of expertise is open, we are particularly interested in individuals who can teach courses in undergraduate statistics, neuroscience, cognitive, and/or social psychology. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision and dental insurance benefits, retirement benefits, a generous holiday schedule, and a 25% discount for undergraduate tuition remission for employee's dependents during the first year of employment among other benefits.
Responsibilities:
We seek applicants with a commitment to high quality undergraduate teaching in a liberal art setting. Applicants should be prepared to teach courses in statistics and research methods, and at least one of the following areas: neuroscience, cognitive, or social psychology. The typical departmental teaching load is three courses per semester (4 credit courses). The candidate will assist in academic/career advisement of undergraduate students, mentoring of students in research, and contribute to faculty governance.
