Job Summary:
Simmons University is looking for an Academic Advisor to join the College of Social Sciences, Policy, and Practice (CSSPP), primarily within the School of Social Work (SSW), including both online and on-campus programming. This position will primarily support online students enrolled in the newly established Doctor of Social Work (DSW) students but will also include Masters' level students in both the online and on ground platforms. The Academic Advisor is responsible for building supportive and personalized relationships with students, managing expectations of program requirements, and providing opportunities to help students stay connected to the Simmons community. This position will start on or after January 1, 2023, subject to the selected candidate's availability. This is a full-time position that can be Boston-based or remote, with expectations of availability for campus-based activities as needed.
The Academic Advisor oversees student enrollment and registration, maintains accurate student data, and counsels students on course registration, leaves of absence, academic ineligibility, plans of study, policy questions, as well as other needs.
The Academic Advisor reports to the Director of Student Support Services for CSSPP
and works collaboratively with the University's external partner and has regular contact with their Student Success team, Admissions Counselors, and Associate Program Director of the DSW program.

This position is full-time on a 40-hour work week schedule which will require flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends. This role is eligible to be Boston-based or for a fully remote work schedule.
