The appointee will teach undergraduate courses in Population and Demography and contribute to the School's Official Statistics program. The appointee will also work with other regional and international organisations, engage in consultancy services and contribute to the development of the Population and Demography program and is expected to commit fully to the School's annual work plan and the University's strategic plan.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A recent (within 3 years) PhD in Population and Demography or related field and at Least one ranked publication. OR in exceptional cases candidates with Masters Qualifications and QoR threshold of meeting performance expectation of a Lecturer AND some year relevant tertiary teaching experience and Postgraduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (PGCTT) or Equivalent; and
- The position is reserved for citizens of USP member countries as the main entry point for regional staff.
Preference will be given to applicants with: Demonstrated field experience and knowledge of applied areas of Population and Demography and those with working knowledge of the Pacific region especially with regional or international organisations.
The position is available for a term of 5 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range: Assistant Lecturer: FJ $57,988 to FJ $69,586 per annum
