The Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs (O’Neill School) at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) seeks to fill one tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in August 2020.
We seek candidates who can complement our existing strengths and priorities within our multidisciplinary public affairs program. Applicants should conduct research and teach at the intersections of public affairs and environmental policy, with potential connections to urban affairs, environmental resilience, social and environmental justice, sustainability, and climate change adaptation. Research areas might include (but are not limited to) public policy, public management, economics, management, political science, urban planning, regional science, and/or sociology. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in an appropriate field (e.g., sociology, economics, political science, public administration, policy analysis) at the time of appointment.
All applicants must present evidence of, or promise for, high-quality research and an ambitious research program. Candidates will be expected to publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals and successfully pursue extramural research funding, where appropriate. In addition to maintaining an active program of research, candidates will be expected to teach courses that contribute to the core missions of our undergraduate and graduate programs. The standard teaching load is 2/2, and we value candidates who are open to employing a variety of high impact practices and alternative teaching formats.
