Job Description

The primary responsibilities of the Associate Director of Admissions include: working with the Director of Admissions to lead and manage all aspects of the admission team in order to achieve annual enrollment goals in all programs; identifying and implementing new recruitment tactics and team training activities that result in increased conversion of inquiries to students; leading, and participating in online, on-campus, and off-campus recruitment events; advising leads and applicants, and ensuring that all of our incoming students are prepared to start class.


  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, as well as the following competencies, and experience.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in an admissions or higher education environment. Experience in graduate admissions highly preferred.


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail, extremely well-organized and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving skills and the ability to identify solutions quickly.
  • Excellent computer skills with experience in database management
  • Strong cross-cultural interpersonal skills; professional and friendly in-person and on the phone
  • Demonstrated leadership success through a proven track record of contributing to a positive culture in a goal-oriented environment
  • Ability to travel to off-campus events as needed. These events require the ability to physically transport materials, set-up admissions displays and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and mentoring admissions staff
  • Assist counselors in maintaining and managing their lead and applicant pool.
  • Identify and implement new recruitment tactics to increase conversion of inquiries and applicants
  • Assist in building and managing communication plans to prospective and incoming students using CRM.
  • Assist in generating and analyzing reports from our CRM
  • Work with program faculty and admissions staff to organize, attend and deliver online, on-campus, and off-campus recruitment and retention events.
  • Answer questions about Adler University programs, admissions requirements and processes, tuition and financial aid.
  • Collect, analyze and maintain data on all aspects of the Chicago Campus recruitment process.
  • Assist admitted students in navigating next steps between acceptance and the start of the program.
  • Assist with Director of Admissions duties in their absence.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
  • Support individual student enrollment by managing inquiries through advising sessions to registration.
  • Training and development of Sr. Admissions Counselors to assist with efficiently planning and implementing all on-campus, virtual, and recruitment events.
  • Assist Sr. Admissions Counselors with developing and executing skill-based training including product knowledge and best practices within the team.

Work Environment (Physical Demands):  The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
