The Systems Support Specialist provides responsible technical support and manages the operation of the College’s enterprise systems. The infrastructure includes mostly Microsoft operating systems, multiple communications protocols, and a variety of hardware and software. Responsibilities include the installation, configuration, administration, and updating of servers including physical servers, virtual servers, and server clusters; maintenance and administration of client-server applications; troubleshooting server problems; monitoring of user/email accounts and email support, and provisioning of file shares and user permissions. Reports to Director, Systems Support.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree is normally required; however, five years’ experience in server administration, server support, client-server applications, and Microsoft applications and certification in one of the following will substitute for the required degree, MCP or MCSE. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer experience with Microsoft Active Directory, GPO, Delegation, Microsoft Exchange online, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft clustering, DHCP, DNS, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, print servers, and file servers; experience with shared storage area networks (EMC) and Dell or Dell-based server hardware platform; support experience with HyperV, Failover Cluster Manager, and Virtual Machine Manager in a production environment; and experience in writing PowerShell and other scripting languages preferred. Experience with Microsoft Cloud applications including but not limited to Azure, Azure AD, and Advance Threat Protection.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
SALARY: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 The salary may be negotiable depending upon experience.
