Major/Essential Functions
The Section Coordinator will collaborate with team members within the Office of Admissions for the purpose of developing accessible and equitable advising and application experiences for prospective nursing students. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May have the opportunity to supervise program staff and/or student assistants. Supports the Service Plus philosophy of Texas Tech.
Participates as an active part of the Admissions team in
planning and decision making of the division as well as the development of policy and procedures to support the work of the division. As needed, may be called upon to assist in coverage for other areas.
Create a welcoming and positive environment for students, staff, and faculty to ensure the interaction is an efficient and satisfying experience.
Create and manage databases, spreadsheets, queries, and electronic communication that support the operations of the division.
Supervises student assistant if appropriate.
All other duties as assigned by the Managing Director for Admissions
Provide engagement opportunities to prospective Students
Collaborates with the Managing Director for Admissions & Student Affairs to advance, implement and execute measurable actions leading towards greater diversity, equity, and inclusion of the prospective nursing student community.
Serves as a SON Admissions representative for internal and external committees as requested or needed.
Engages with underrepresented undergraduate and professional student organizations to support equity initiatives.
Builds and cultivates relationships with various stakeholders (students, alumni, community partners, staff, faculty).
Design and implement educational outreach and programming efforts to create an inclusive and welcoming Office of Admissions.
Provides Webinars (programmatic information, application workshops, interview prep, transitions, finance, ect….)
Interact with parents/families.

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.
