Position Description

The Programmer Analyst III's role is to develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications in support of business requirements. This position will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle. Additionally, the Programmer Analyst III is also responsible for supervising and/or leading the development of new systems, directing changes to existing systems and controlling the interfaces between the systems, initiating complex feasibility studies and making recommendations of the action to be taken.

Major/Essential Functions

Perform programmer analyst job duties in support of TTUHSC business requirements in Lubbock, TX. Develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications insupport of business requirments, to include IBM Cognos financial software program models and reports. Utilize SQL for ODS )operatioal data store) report modeling. Test ERP systems. Research, design, document, and modify sotware specifications throughout the production life cycle. Participate in the development of new systems, oversight of changes to existing systems and controlling the interfaces between the systems. Initiate feasibility studies. Provide IT project recommendations. Train users and stakeholders on function of function of Cognos program. 
 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus three (3) years related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology (IT), or related field, and three (3) years of experience working with: IBM Cognos financial program; report tools (ex. SQL Developer, Access); and Data Analysis/Business Intelligence (BI); OR Master's degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology (IT), or related field, and one year of experience working with: IBM Cognos financial program; report tools (ex. SQL Developer, Access); and Data Analysis/Business Intelligence (BI).
