Position Description

Performs supervisory and coordination work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions

Coordination and oversight of the day to day operations of the fellowship programs within the internal medicine department. There is currently an endocrinology fellowship program and a cardiology fellowship program and tentatively a gastroenterology fellowship program.  There are in place to apply for additional programs.  Responsibilities involve the coordination of the various functions and aspects of maintaining accreditation for the fellowship training programs as well as the monitoring of fellows, opening and closing clinics, answer phones, distribute mail, order supplies, monitor and track vacation requests; create and distribute schedules for fellows, operational procedures and other duties as assigned by supervisors.  Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained.  Will work closely with IM Residency Program Coordinator, Program Directors, Associate Program Directors, IM Department Head Nurse, and Department Administrator.

Occasional Duties

Assist with projects associated with coordination of events for all resident and/or fellow programs as needed and other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent plus five (5) years progressively responsible related experience; additional related education may exchange for required experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Must have Computer Skills - MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Internet; Must be able to understand and
follow instruction; Must be able to coordinate assignments and establish priorities; Must be able to work
independently. Must be able to communicate efficiently orally and in written form.

Pay Statement
